Merry Christmas Tree

One of my fondest childhood memories is from when I was 5 or 6 years old. We just decorated our live New Year's tree that day. In the evening, when the lights in the room were off, and only the tree lights were on, I crawled under the tree. Lying on my back I was looking up through the branches at all the glimmering glass ornaments and the tree lights imagining that the tree was a magical fairyland. To this day, the best thing about the holidays for me is bringing the tree in, putting up the decorations, lighting up the lights to create this little portal into the magical fairyland. And I always leave my tree up long after the holiday not ready for the magic to be gone.
