Materials
1. US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method)
2. Light fingering weight yarn 231y/50 g (211m/50g). You will need about 50 g total: Color 1 – 126y/25g, Color 2 –126y/ 25g. Small amounts of other colors for adding details (optional).
3. Tapestry needle (for duplicate stitch) - optional
4. 47 beads (red for berries) - optionalNotes
• Sizes: The size of the mittens can be adjusted with yarn and needles. My recommendation would be: for S/M light fingering + 2mm needles, for M use fingering + 2.25/2.5 mm needles, for large use sport weight and 2.5/3 mm needles.
• Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Catch longer floats using preferred method.
• Duplicate stitch: Some of the design elements (birds, marks on the trees, berries) are added with duplicate stitch technique and small amounts of other colors – optional.
• Adding beads (optional): To make your mittens more festive and sparkly, consider adding beads for berries to the stitches marked with a B on the chart. Alternatively, you can use duplicate stitch to add berries or add them with a french knot stitch. Or leave the bushes completely bare, if you like.
