Materials
1. US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method)
2. Light fingering weight yarn 231y/50 g (211m/50g). You will need about 344y/76 g total: Background color 1 – 56y/12g, Background color 2 – 130y/28g, Contrast color 1 – 36y/8g, Contrast Color 2 – 122y/28g.
3. Tapestry needle (for duplicate stitch - optional)Notes
• Sizes: The size of the mittens/mitts can be adjusted with yarn and needles. My recommendation would be: for S/M light fingering + 2mm needles, for M use fingering + 2.25/2.5 mm needles, for large use sport weight and 2.5/3 mm needles.
• Options: You can follow the same pattern to make either full mittens or mitts version. Special instructions (notes) will be given for the mitts option.
There is also an option for a 64 or a 60-stitch cuff. Choose the one that fits you best.
• Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Catch longer floats using preferred method.
• Duplicate stitch: If desired, add some highlights to the ornaments on the cuff and the top of the mittens with duplicate stitch. Also, refer to page 14 of the pattern for suggestions for adding beads to the snowflake (optional).
